Bakemoji — Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-10-31. By using Bakemoji you agree to these terms.

The service

The app turns parts of books into Japanese and explains the words. Explanations are partly generated by AI and may contain mistakes; please report them with the «error» button on a card.

Your books

You may only open books you have the right to read. Free books in the library are public domain works from Project Gutenberg and Wikisource; we don't charge for them — Plus and ink pay for the conversion and learning features.

Ink

Each drop of ink unlocks one chapter with Japanese. Ink has no cash value, can't be bought, sold or transferred, and may be lost if you delete the app without an account.

Plus subscription

Plus gives unlimited ink, premium themes and no ads. It renews automatically at the price shown until you cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions or iPhone Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Payment is charged to your store account; a free trial, if offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Refunds follow the rules of Google Play or the App Store. On iPhone, Apple's Standard EULA also applies.

Fair use

Don't try to bypass limits, extract the dictionary or attack the service; we may block devices that do.

Liability

The app is provided «as is». To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damages; our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version.
